300 GNR
This is a shortened 30-30 and intended for revolver use but works well in Contenders and Encores.This one will put a 110 gr. JHP out of a 7 inch barrel at 1800 fps with no set back problems. This Cartridge’s best potential is varmint and smaller big game like Javelina and Coues deer. Preformed.
Brass is also available.
338 GNR
The 338 GNR is one of Gary’s favorites. It has been used countless times in Africa and in Australia on
600 to 800 pound critters. It is formed from 405 Winchester brass by simply necking it down. This one
will put a 210 gr. bullet out at 2100 fps. Preformed brass is also available.
356 GNR
Next up is a fairly new cartridge and one that is very popular. The 356 GNR is a 41 Magnum case necked down to 357. It is intended for revolvers but works well in Contenders and Encores also This
cartridge’s best potential is varmint and big game up to the size of deer. Preformed brass is also available.
41 GNR
The oldest of Gary Reeders’
custom cartridges is the 41 GNR. This one developed back in 1979 and
released in 1980. It is a
44 Magnum necked down to 41. This one will put a 170 gr. Sierra JHP out
of an 7 inch barrel at 1800 fps. Numerous elk, deer and caribou have
been taken with this one. This cartridge is very accurate and will have best
results from a revolver at 70 yards or less EZ load brass is also
available.
410 GNR
The newest of the 41 caliber wildcats is the 410 GNR. This is
a 454 Casull case necked down to 41. This cartridge has taken several large
buffalo in a 5 month period. We use the Cast Performance 255 gr. LBT.
This cartridge will put this bullet out at approximately 1600 fps in a 7 inch
barrel and does best in a 5 shot revolver or 1900 fps from an Encore barrel.
This cartridge is very accurate and will have best results from a revolver at
70 yards or less. EZ load brass is also available.
475 GNR
The 475 GNR was developed back in 1987 for the Contender. It puts a 430 gr. LBT bullet out at 1800 fps and has been used extremely well on Cape Buffalo, Bison, and Australian Buffalo. Best in the
Encore or in a Marlin 1895 rifle rebarreled. Brass is also available.
EZ Load Brass
for GNR cartridges is brass that has been necked, sized, trimmed and belled (if required) with a primer
installed. All you have to do is throw your favorite powder charge and seat a bullet.
